With these I stay Regular
Regular expressions, that is. One of the ickiest things. Most powerful too. Regular expressions rank almost as high as Scheme, Lisp or Perl syntax, only, unfortunately, more useful.
SO many problems can be solved elegantly with a convoluted regex that 99.8% or programmers can't understand, whatever their native language.
This is actually good shit, kinda like RegEx 101 for retarded people:

Don't Lose that Memory, Map it!
Memory mapped files are cool. Too bad it's a pain in .net because there's not specific support for it. Use API (Don't wanna, too lazy) better syphon this example here:
http://www.codeproject.com/aspnet/VbNetMemoryMappedCache.aspOne day, we will realize that there are only 10 programmers in the world that know what a SP register is or what assembly language means. They will all be over 80 years old and slightly turning senile. The 680 trillions other programmers will know how to drop a timer object on a windows form.
Prosaic Shades of Gray
At some point I think I found some posts interesting. Now that I get back to it, I wonder what that was.

Turn your old Mac into something useful. Probably can be applied to old NeXT workstations. Or pc monitors. Makes me wonder what we're gonna do with all those thin LCDs when we're done with them...
